Statewide

  • Social Studies Standards DRAFT
    • Scheduled to be reviewed by the State Board this October
    • Will be the first major revamping to the Social Studies Standards since
    • Emphasis on 'big themes' versus detailed information - Civics, Economics, Geography, History

  • Statewide Teacher/Principal Evaluation Pilot
    • Request to submit 1-2 school districts for participation in the pilot project to create an evaluation template based on the newly-adopted Teacher/Principal framework (Educator Standards)
    • Pilot schools will
      • assist in the design of specific forms and other documents in the model evaluations
      • undergo training in the use of the model evaluation systems
      • implement the models in the 2013-14 school year.

  • NWEA Certified Trainer Program Proposal
    • Training for trainers will possibly begin in June, most likely next fall

  • Statewide Training Fall 2012: Using the RTI Process in Mathematics
    • This presentation will provide an overview of using Curriculum Based Measures screening and progress monitoring data as part of data-based decision making in a Response to Intervention Model. Administration, scoring, graphing, and data decision-making rules will be discussed. In addition, diagnostics that lead to effectively selecting interventions will be suggested. Evidence-based mathematics interventions will be described and resources provided.
